"I grew up in the Kansas City area, which, for the most part didn't provide much inspiration as a young child. Luckily for me, as far back as I can remember, there's nothing I enjoyed more than being alone in my room drawing, painting, sewing...any form of creativity. Growing up, Ii was always drawn to the bright colors, shapes and designs of the 1950's-70's, especially wallpaper and fabric. Though I enjoy making my own clothes and home decor, my passion has always been painting. Along with the vibrant textiles of the past, I also get alot of my inspiration from nature. I imagine, because all of our family vacations growing up included camping, hiking, horseback riding and such. Though I can admire the beauty of nature, I've always been obsessed with the simplicity of the silhouettes. As you can see, I tend to join my two inspirations into one, creating what I believe to be a modern take on textile design and nature. I hope you can enjoy my works as much as I enjoy dreaming them up."
