La Karta paper goods company was formed in 2000, when former visual designer Krissy Carambia made handmade note cards for herself. The very next day she was passing around samples and shortly thereafter, the orders began flying in. New styles and notepads soon became a part of the rapidly developing collection. Krissy's love for mixing color and texture, in addition to her use of different mediums, contribute to making her cards both interesting and unique. She compares her scrap-n-stitch note cards to one of her great loves, hip hop music, in that she uses samples of classic designs to create an entirely new masterpiece.

With continuing inspiration from fashion magazines, music, and all things vintage, new styles and products are always being created.
