ARTIST BIO

Melissa Altman and Jen Garrido met many years ago at a yoga class held at their college, Sonoma State University. Jen was studying painting, and Melissa studied both Art History and English Literature. In between "corpse poses" and their classes, the two of them became grade A friends. Upon graduating, Jen went on to Mills College for her MFA, and Melissa hightailed it to New York to continue her studies at Hunter College. Inspired by their long distance friendship, as well as the lack of quirky and unique cards in the stores, the ladies decided to start Dog & Pony Show Designs together.

Jen Garrido is currently living in San Francisco, and is a nationally exhibited painter. Melissa Altman currently works for the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles.
